Job Summary:
The Quality Specialist supports the Manager of Quality in maintaining and improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role is primarily focused on SOP development and control, internal auditing, inspection documentation, ERP quality records, and audit readiness. The Quality Specialist works cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Production to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, documented, and followed.
Responsibilities:
The Quality Specialist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Quality Systems & Documentation
o Create, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality-related documentation
o Manage document control activities, including revisions, approvals, and distribution
o Ensure controlled documents are current, accessible, and properly archived
· Internal Audits & Compliance
o Plan, conduct, and document internal quality audits
o Track audit findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities
o Support external audits
· Inspection & Quality Records
o Support inspection documentation and verification activities
o Enter, review, and maintain quality records within the ERP system
o Assist with data review, reporting, and basic quality trend analysis
· Training & Continuous Improvement
o Support development and maintenance of training materials related to SOPs and quality processes
o Assist with training coordination and documentation
o Support continuous improvement initiatives and corrective/preventive actions
· Cross – Department Coordination
o Serve as a quality liaison between departments (Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Production)
o Communicate quality requirements and documentation updates clearly and effectively
o Assist in resolving quality issues through collaboration and documentation support
Non-Essential / Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in quality meetings and improvement initiatives
- Assist the Quality Manager with special projects as assigned
- Perform occasional floor inspections or verifications as needed
Education and/or Experience Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 2+ years of experience in quality, documentation, or manufacturing support role
· Experience in creating or maintaining SOPs or controlled documents
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
