This is a remote position in Dallas/Fort Worth Area.

Position Summary 
 
The Business Development Manager will oversee and drive strategic sales efforts for large-scale projects, ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded. This includes managing client relationships, coordinating with internal teams, and developing strategies to secure major project contract awards.  This position will provide consultative services to architects and designers with a focus on helping them specify Gordon architectural solutions.  The Business Development Manager will also oversee Gordon independent rep firms in major project pursuits with the goal to build strategic alliances across all stakeholders in the project. 
 
Objectives 

·       Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes. 
·       Analyze project status and, when necessary, revise the scope, schedule or budget to ensure that product and/or project requirements              can be met. 
·       Guide target audience to best possible product package that focuses on Cost Efficiency, Design palette, and Value Engineering 
·       Implement strategy with external sales reps and internal Gordon teams on Project Pursuits 
·       Provide guidance and hold customer meetings to earn BOD for the project 
·       Develop collaborative relationships with specific national level contractors 
·       Identify strategic projects with national level contractors 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Global Director of Sales, Engineers and the respective Business Units to provide Architectural and design support for our customers, Manufacturers’ Reps, as well as providing specifications for Architects 
  • Works with Architects to design and specify Gordon, Inc. products into the scope of their work
  • Responsible for finalizing the Bid process for Project Pursuits with Senior Management to ensure all aspects of the bidding process are fully understand to elicit a project award. 
  • Recommend and present innovative solutions and drive internal developments and improvements.
  • Cradle to grave management of project lifecycle, pursuit, opportunity, quote and award
  • Develop and implement sales strategies across project pursuits 
  • Create sales focused project milestones with all stakeholders up to the project being awarded
  • Create new tools and resources based on successful project pursuit outcomes
  • Create Strategic Project presentations with Marketing assistance
  • Project Sales Collateral to be reviewed and updated semi-annually
  • Implementation of new communication tools like the Business Development Command Center
  • Utilize architectural and manufacturing expertise to guide design development 
  • Oversee project kick-off meetings with all stakeholders for new project pursuits
  • Identify Early Design and Development opportunities 
  • Develop specs, drawings and details with internal technical resources to meet design criteria
  • Create account strategies for national architectural firms that increase visibility and engagement for Gordon
  • Identify firms whose materials give Gordon a competitive advantage
  • Provide guidance on standard and custom displays for key industry trade shows
  • Assist with new product launches that are relevant to major projects
  • Refine current sample program for project pursuit approvals
  • Work with strategic architectural firms to collaborate on digital imagery 
  • Assist Marketing Manager with developing new marketing collateral for project pursuits 
  • Provide design knowledge/criteria with direct insights from architectural partners
Education / Experience Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Construction related sales, operations, or design
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or working experience in Manufacturing, Architecture, Construction or related field.
  • Experienced leader, providing a team with direction and vision, including motivating people to perform, listening to people, providing feedback, recognizing strengths and providing challenges 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Gordon, Inc. products, services, and projects
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
  • Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  • High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience in delivering finely tuned project pursuit strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong sense of accountability - ensures that you will do what you say that you are going to do
